JSC Vostokgazprom is a subsidiary of Gazprom and one of the largest energy companies of Siberia.

Technological objects of oil & gas production in most cases are located in hard-to-reach places. The distances to some well pads can reach scores of kilometers, while the path can run through rivers and marshes, and the availability of objects depends on weather conditions. Generally the oil & gas industry undergoes structural changes over time. Placing in commission new wells, the number of needed equipment grows.

At the beginning of 2010 Vostokgazprom decided to build a telemechanics system for oil & gas wells, including all necessary equipment for the telemechanization of six wells.

With the field development in 2013, the telemechanics system also expanded. In addition to the existing ones, 8 more wells were developed and telemechanized.

Customer goal

Comparing several options, MTS decided to choose Youcnta's Y-Haul.

  • datalink channel organization between subscriber station and the base station with a transmission rate of up to 5 Mbit/s ;
  • real-time control and monitoring of technological processes ;
  • remote monitoring and management of base and subscriber stations.


Youncta's solution

Considering various solutions Vostokgazprom decided to choose Younctas nLOS compact VHF radio Y-Haul.

  • Frequency range: 300700 MHz ;
  • QPSK to 64QAM for longer hops and/or increased capacity ;
  • Different channel bandwidth: 1.7512 MHz ;
  • Fast Ethernet for Y-Haul TDD and Fast Ethernet plus E1 for Y-Haul FDD Interfaces available.
The Y-Haul is a new generation of UHF/VHF point-to-point wireless communication system. It provides TDM and Ethernet data transmitting over incredible long-range distances, supporting up to 29 Mbps of aggregate data traffic. Y-Haul operates over long hops even in nLOS conditions. Compared with dish antennas, Y-Hauls antennas are very light weight and have almost no wind load.

  • Large coverage area, work on semi-closed routes ;
  • Ensuring the operation of multipoint networks;
  • Guaranteed transmission speed;
  • Control & management of stations, using web based interface;
  • Upgradeability of the station software.
At the moment, the well telemechanics system of oil & gas fields operates successful thanks to the Y-Haul and its compliance with modern requirements.
